When a history geek gets the moniker of Black-Sword legally through marriage, what to do but hyphenate. I had no choice, you see. It would be wrong to simply shrug away this opportunity.

I’m Donna Black-Sword – a mom, wife, writer, and lover of all things dog. And now the family historian after inheriting photos and documents dating beyond the gilded age.

Everyone has a story, right? Some are well known to us, others are hidden and shadowed. I want to find those stories and share with anyone who is willing to listen.

They say a person dies twice. Once when we reach the end of our physical life. And our second death is when our name is no longer uttered.
